Either way, keep it at least ten feet from structures and overhanging limbs, and use stainless or powder-coated components near tidal water where salt air attacks plain steel.

A patio with a fire feature typically runs one to two weeks. Adding a pergola or covered pavilion extends that by roughly a week for footings, framing and finish. An outdoor kitchen adds time for utility runs and for the reinforced base a masonry counter needs. Permitted structures add two to three weeks of review before any work starts. Suffolk's summer thunderstorms are the usual cause of schedule slip, since concrete and base work both pause in heavy rain, so warm season timelines carry weather float.
